Set up an object that is in the family of a cone, and see if you can trace the transitions across the form of your cone. Understandably, sometimes these transitions that we conjure up seem contrived, and foisted upon nature. But remember that the transitions are merely a guide, but not the single formula for the flow of all light. Accordingly, when you learn one aspect of seeing, you then know how to stray from it. So, as you work and follow the transitions of the light flowing over the form, try and impose on nature the concepts that you have come up with, and see how that improves and imparts volume and strength to your two dimensional image.
