Foundations of Drawing
Begin with the most basic building blocks, the foundational principles of classical drawing. In this video series, Kevin takes you step by step and opens up the world of drawing.
Drawing From Life
Use common household objects to teach you how to find the Geometric Essence in everything you see. Listen to various lessons that teach you how light flows over form, and more.
Still Life Drawing
Kevin covers composition, different lighting techniques, textures, and the dialogue between shapes. Learn how to pair different textures in order to "heighten" an object.

Anatomy Drawing

Portrait Painting
A twenty hour portrait painting course, in which Kevin takes you step by step through the various stages of painting a portrait of his son Liam.
Still Life Painting
How does light pass through a jar? How do you capture the heaviness of cast iron? What is the difference between titanium white and flake white? Over the course of a dozen hours, Kevin answers dozens of questions such as these, as he takes his still life painting from setting up the objects and designing the composition, to laying in the first few touches of turpentine rich paint. Each step is shown on the video, with thorough narration by Kevin as he paints. Join us, for a fascinating evolution of a beautiful still life painting.

Paint outdoors in person, in Autumn, and in beautiful Brightwaters, Bayshore- join the October Plein Air Painting Course of the McEvoy Atelier. After an enjoyable season of painting on the southern canals of Bay Shore, we now move slightly north to Brightwaters, Long Island, on the beautiful series of lakes and bridges of this unique little town. This beautiful quiet community just west of downtown Bay Shore features many beautiful features to choose from. This location is near bathrooms, and is also near Bay Shore’s beautiful Main Street. Weekly Studio Art Classes Now Available
Studio Art Classes provide an opportunity for you to work alongside other artists on charcoal drawings, still life projects, or continuing projects you've been working on at home. Kevin McEvoy will be teaching the class, providing personal insight and direction on each artists piece.

Learn to draw not just what we can see, but what we can think of. By the end of this course you will design a multifigure composition of a medieval scene consisting of a knight, horse, dragon and castle.
